For my commentaries about the
Coronavirus crisis, Coronavirus Articles
and Commentaries.
This page mostly contains short comments I’ve posted about news articles on Trib Live. This is the website for three Pittsburgh area newspapers, including my hometown newspaper. I read their website every day. Trib Live is left leaning in its perspective across all three of its newspapers and on its website. The comments at the end of articles are also mostly left leaning, being posted mostly by people from the very blue city of Pittsburgh. As such, my voice is rather unique. That is why I decided to start posting comments, to counter the liberal perspective. There is a 750-character limit to comments, so I need to be concise in my comments, which is not always easy for me to do. The title links open in a new window. The comments are posted in reverse chronological order. Newest on top, oldest at the bottom.
Conservative voice off of the air
Wendy Bell taken off the air by KDKA Radio
Before Wendy, the only time I listened to KDKA was at the top of the hour once or twice a day to get their three-minute headline news. Then I would turn it off before the flood of commercials began. But then I happened to catch Wendy a few months ago, and her show was worth putting up with the myriad of commercials for, so I would listen as I was able from 3-6 pm.
I tried the Radio.com app. Initially, it worked great, as I could skip some of those commercials. But then they ruined it by adding even more ads from the app itself, on top of the KDKA ads. And worse, those app ads would cause the app to stop, so each time one played, which was every few minutes, I had to fiddle with the app to get it started again. I finally gave up on it and stuck with an old-fashioned radio to listen to Wendy.
But now that she is gone, there is no reason for me to listen to KDKA, except again, for three minutes at the top of the hour. And I uninstalled the Radio.com app, as there was nothing else on it worth struggling with the horrible functionality over.
I suspect KDKA’s rating
will plummet, at least from 3-6 pm.

Why I no longer watch professional sports
Steelers’ helmets to have Antwon Rose Jr.’s name on them throughout season
I will have a section on “The
Antwon Rose/ Michael Rosfeld Case” in a planned forthcoming book. Here, I will
just say, the situation was not as the media has been presenting it. The fact
that the Steelers have fallen for that deception and is going woke is why I will
not be watching football this year, just as the woke BLM video before the first
Pirate’s game has kept me from watching so much as one baseball game this year.
Just play ball. Until professional sports can return to that mindset, they have
lost me as a fan and a viewer.

Rush to Judgment
Steelers’ Maurkice Pouncey to remove Antwon Rose Jr.’s name from helmet
“I want to make sure (police) understand I inadvertently supported a cause of which I did not fully comprehend the entire background of the case,” Pouncey said Thursday on his verified Instagram account. “I take responsibility for not doing more investigating into something that is sensitive to the community and (Rose’s) family.”
I have been railing against the rush to judgment in this country ever since Obama’s “The Cambridge police acted sturdily” comment. Obama was wrong then in his rush to judgment in that case. Dems were wrong in their rush to judgment on the Kavanaugh case. The media was wrong in their rush to judgment in the Covington students case. House Dems were again wrong in their rush to judgment in the impeachment fiasco. Twitter users everywhere are wrong on many rushed judgments.
And on it goes in one case after another, the media, politicians (usually Dems), and the public rush to judgment without first obtaining all of the facts, get wrong ideas in their heads, and it is almost impossible to remove them.
At least Pouncey had the sense to admit his error here. But millions still think Kavanaugh was a “rapist,” when there was zero evidence supporting the sexual assault charges and much exculpatory evidence against them, as I detail in my book Tearing the USA Apart. Millions still think President Trump “coerced Ukraine to dig up dirt on his political rival” (as House Dems put it) even though the evidence does not support such, as I detail in my Impeach trilogy.
Millions still thing “that Covington kid had a smirk on this face” when in fact he acted far more adult than the adults involved, as I detail on my politics website. And sadly, many Pittsburghers still think Antwon Rose was an innocent victim, just as many Americans think the same about Rayshard Brooks, Jacob Blake, and others, when they were in fact criminals who resisted arrest, as I will discuss in a forthcoming book.
Details. Evidence. Facts. Sadly, too many today do not take such into account. They react emotionally and presumptuously when they hear about some high-profile case, to the detriment of all of those involved. We all need to slow down and get the facts before coming to a judgment on case.
That is what I try to do in my writings, to provide those facts, on my politics website and in my politics books:

The First Impeachment of Donald J. Trump
This three-volume set covers the impeachment of Donald J. Trump that occurred over the fall of 2019 to the winter of 2020. It was yet one more attempt to oust the President from office by Democrats, who never accepted he won in 2016. A complaint about a phone call between President Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky led to an impeachment inquiry to begin in early September 2019. Along the way, the corruption of Joe Biden that Trump wanted investigated and which led to the impeachment inquiry is discussed.
The above commentaries were posted in September 2020.
