Squats

First Attempt

Second Attempt

I didn't realize I went this deep. Maybe that is why it felt so hard.

Third Attempt

I was probably still on my way down when this was snapped, as I am sure I sunk it more than this.

Benches

Me preparing for one of my bench attempts. Unfortunately, the photographer did not get any pics of me actually benching.

Deadlifts

 First Attempt

Second Attempt

The preceding two pictures are instructive. The first is just shy of lockout and where I probably stopped on the next attempt, hence the three red lights. The next is just at lockout. If you cannot tell the difference, well, you're not alone. Neither could my dad. But there is a difference. Incidentally, this is why gym lifts are irrelevant, as no one in a commercial gym would probably say the first pic is of an unsuccessful lift. I know, as no one viewing my videos ever said anything about it, and I never noticed it myself. But now that I was called on it, reviewing my videos, I can see times where I stopped at the position of the first picture.

Third Attempt

My position does not look real good here. My legs are too straight for this point in the lift.

Miscellaneous

The meet director and gym owner Josh Hendrickson.

The bruise and cut on my left thigh from hitting into a bench safety bar.

The award. Not real happy with just a metal medal rather than a trophy. But then, I am running of out places to put trophies in my home, so maybe it was for the best.

Powerlifting and Back Pain

The first book is geared towards the beginner to intermediate powerlifter. It presents sound training, competition, dietary, and supplement advice to aid the reader in starting and progressing in the sport of powerlifting. The second book details how I overcame years of crippling low back and was able to return to the sport of powerlifting.
