Trump Indictment

Breitbart. Donald Trump Pleads Not Guilty to 34 Counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree

Breitbart. Report: Alvin Bragg Wants Trump Trial in January 2024, During Republican Primary.

As best as I understand it, Trump’s “crime” is he put numbers in the wrong column. Rather than listing his $130,000 hush money payment to porn prostitute Stormy Daniels as a campaign contribution, he listed it as a business expense. However, as legal scholar Alan Dershowitz pointed out, no one ever puts in a business ledger, “Hush money payment to a woman with whom I allegedly had an affair in order to cover it up.”

The number of counts is due to Trump making those payments in installments rather than one lump sum. D.A. Alvin Bragg is counting each payment as a separate count. He is also counting each text or email about them as separate counties. But it is all just one alleged crime.

Worse is all of these counts should be misdemeanors, for which the statute of limitations has long since expired. But Bragg is “bootstrapping” those alleged misdemeanors to an alleged felony. But he never specifies what that felony is in the indictment. He mentioned something about a state election law in his presser, but he did not specify what that is. That leaves Trump's legal team with not knowing the exact felony they need to defend Trump against.

Finally, Bragg wanting to time the trial so that it occurs just as the GOP primaries begin demonstrates this is just a politically motivated fiasco, with no sound legal basis to it.

Joe Biden's Failing Presidency

This series of five books provides the definitive record of Biden’s failures in his first two years as President. These failures should not be forgotten, as they laid the foundation for his continual failures in his subsequent years as President. He has been failing miserably on both domestic issues and in foreign policy. Those failures are all chronicled in these five books.
