Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans. Amidst all of the food, football, and chaos of family gatherings, take the time to remember what this day is all about: thanking the LORD for all of the blessings He has bestowed on this great country.

I thank you LORD for the peace, prosperity, and freedom You have blessed the USA with, so that we Americans do not live with constant war on our land, in dire poverty, or under oppression. May we stop all of the bickering for one day and realize these blessings, that we can truly be one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Loss of Respect for Human Life

One of the sins that a society which rejects God as Creator will descend into mentioned by the Apostle Paul in Romans 1:1-32 is murder. This past Sunday (10/1/17), a gunman open fired on a country music concert in Las Vegas, Nevada, killing 58 people and injuring over 500 others, before killing himself. This was the worst of many such mass killings that has occurred in the USA in recent years. But in this case, no specific motive has yet to be discovered as to why this shooter committed this atrocity.

However, I have long believed that at the root of all such tragedies is a loss of respect for human life. That loss of respect begins with the teaching that human beings are just an accident of evolution, just animals that are no better than any other animal. Nay, we are worse than animals as we are destroying the planet, so the planet would be better off without us. Add to this the slaughter of one million preborn babies every year, and we now have a society that does not respect human life. With that loss of respect for human life, killing a mass of people at once holds no more meaning than killing a swarm of insects.

How different is the Christian worldview. In it, human beings are the pinnacle of God’s creation. In fact, we the reason for the entire creation. We are created in the image of God, distinct from and above the rest of creation. We were created to rule over the creation, not to destroy it, but to tend and care for it. Most of all, we are each known and loved by God, so much so that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so that we can be restored to a relationship with Him, if we just repent and trust in Jesus and His death on the cross for our sins.

Think about that. God so loves each of us that He wants a relationship with us! That is the ultimate reason human life has value and should be respected. When someone has such an attitude, he could never senselessly kill another human being, let alone a mass of them.

But of course, this attitude is not allowed to be taught to our children today, and it is almost completely absent in the wider culture. Then when a tragedy like the shooting in Las Vegas occurs, everyone asks “Why?” But the root reason is clear—our society has turned its back on God as the Creator.

Five books cover every aspect of the 2020 Election, the January 6 “insurrection,” and their aftermath. Starting with claims of fraud and irregularities in that election, to the tragic events of January 6, 2021 (J6; the so-called insurrection), the subsequent second impeachment of Donald J. Trump, to the public hearings of the J6 Commission in the summer and fall of 2022. Also reproduced in these books is all Trump had to say about all of these and related matters during this time period.
