Another Bogus Kavanaugh Allegation

By Gary F. Zeolla

Let me get this straight. Thirty-five years ago, a drunken Brett Kavanaugh, now a Supreme Court Justice but then a freshman at Yale, “exposed” himself to a coed, or so says Max Stier, a former classmate of Kavanaugh, who was one of President Bill Clinton’s lawyers during the Lewinsky scandal. But, and this is kind of an important “but,” the girl he supposedly exposed himself to does not remember the incident!

That last tidbit, the New York Times conveniently left out of its “bombshell” article of September 14, 2019, at least initially. They latter corrected it, but before they did, six of the Democratic Presidential candidates rushed to judgment and declared Justice Kavanaugh should be impeached. Two of them were Kamala Harris and Cory Booker.

Those two were members of the Senate Judiciary Committee (SJC) during the Kavanaugh proceedings last fall (2018). At that time, they, along with the rest of the Democratic members of the SJC, rushed to judgment and declared Kavanaugh guilty of the sexual crimes alleged against him. They held to that position, even when no evidence supporting any of those allegations was forthcoming and much exculpatory evidence come forth.

I detail all of this in my book Tearing the USA Apart. I have also said previously that their rush to judgment and ignoring of the rule of law and presumption of innocence that is a cornerstone of our judicial system should forever bar Kamala and Cory from being considered Presidential material. But far from learning their lesson, they are doing it again, rushing to judgment on a case for which there is no evidence. Let’s be clear, if Max Stier were to file a police report, it would probably go something like this:

Max: I would like to report a sexual assault.

Police: What happened?

Max: My Yale classmate exposed himself to a coed.

Police: You look a bit old to be a student at Yale.

Max: This happened thirty-five years ago.

Police: Umm, I see. Then what happened?

Max: That’s it.

Police: Okay. Who was the girl? We need to talk to her.

Max: Well, that would do no good, as she does not remember it happened and does not want to talk about it.

Police: Let me get this straight. You are reporting an alleged crime that happened three and a half decades ago, and the alleged victim does not remember the event and would not agree to be interviewed?

Max: Well, yes. But she was drunk. That’s why she does not remember it.

Police: Were you drunk too?

Max: Well, yes, but I saw it. I know it happened.

Police: Sorry, but only the alleged victim has the standing to file a police report, and if she is not willing to talk about it, then there’s not much we can do.

Max: But, but, but, he’s a conservative, and he’s a Supreme Court Justice, you have to do something.

Police: Now I see what is happening. A police report is not to be used as a political weapon. I will file this under “Not worth wasting department resources on.” Have a nice day. Now get out of here, before I charge you with filing a false police report.

And that would be the end of that. There would be no trial. No indictment. No, nothing. The allegation would not be made public, because people have a right to a resumption of innocence and for their lives not to be ruined by an unsubstantiated allegation. At least that is the way things used to be.

But no more. Now, an allegation, any allegation, no matter how flimsy can be used to destroy someone the left deems needful to be destroyed. As such, they will publish, circulate, and retweet any allegation if it is politically expedient, and even political candidates will join in the pile on.

Along with Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, Presidential Democratic candidates Julián Castro, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke, and Amy Klobuchar all called for Kavanaugh to be impeached or at least rushed to judgment, saying he is guilty.

These calls were before it was revealed that the alleged victim does not remember the event. But even after that important tidbit was revealed, none of these candidates retracted their calls for impeachment. They and others are instead saying this allegation shows how shoddy the FBI investigation was during the Kavanaugh proceedings last fall.

It is also being said this allegation confirms the allegation of Deborah Ramirez that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her during a college party. But that allegation was as flimsy as this one, as I detail in my book. Moreover, those investigations were not shoddy. The FBI only investigated “credible” allegations, and these allegations did not reach that level.

That can be seen in that none of the accusers in the fall 2018 nor this woman today have filed a police report. But that is what needs to be done if they were in fact looking for justice. But they have not, as they know it is a crime to file a false police report.

In the case of Christine Blasey Ford, who made the first allegation against Kavanaugh, not only was her allegation full of holes, as I detail in my Tearing Apart book, but we now know it was politically motivated. I theorized such was the case in that book, but I did not have the evidence to prove. But we have it now.

Ford’s lawyer admitted it was Ford’s desire to protect Roe v. Wade that caused her to come forward with the allegation. In other words, it was all about abortion, a woman’s so-called “right to choose,” not about justice or Kavanaugh’s qualifications to be on the Supreme Court:

Debra Katz, the attorney for Christine Blasey Ford, who leveled sexual-assault allegations against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, admitted during an April speech that her client’s decision to come forward was partly motivated by a desire to put “an asterisk next to” Kavanaugh’s name before “he takes a scalpel” to Roe v. Wade (National).

“In the aftermath of these hearings I believe that Christine’s testimony brought about more good than the harm the misogynist Republicans caused by allowing Kavanaugh on the court,” Katz said during an event in Baltimore. “He will always have an asterisk next to his name. When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade we will know who he is, we know his character and we know what motivates him. It’s important that we know and that’s part of what motivated Christine” (Townhall).

That unjustified ruined reputation that Katz is so gleeful about is why Kavanaugh, during his testimony before the SJC, said this politics of destruction would lead to no one wanting to enter public office. That sentiment was echoed by a caller on Red Eye Radio early Wednesday morning (9/18/19), when he said, “This is why we get second, third, and fourth class people entering office, not first class people, as first class people do not want their lives and reputations destroyed.”

Despite all of this, Democratic Rep Ayana Presley, a member of “The Squad,” filed a resolution for impeachment of Kavanaugh, saying “I believe Christine Blasey Ford. I believe Deborah Ramirez. It is our responsibility to collectively affirm the dignity and humanity of survivors” (quoted in USA Today). However, even Jerry Nadler, Democratic chair of the House Judiciary Committee, did not think that was a good idea, but only because they have their hands full trying to impeach the President.

All of this is leading to a breakdown of American society. That is why the Kavanaugh proceedings and other events of the summer to fall of 2018 disturbed me so much, as I could see they were a prelude to disturbing trends in America. That is why I wrote my book Tearing the USA Apart last year and am working on a sequel to it now, to be titled Breakdown of American Society. God-willing, I it will be available later this year.

Tearing the USA Apart
From Kavanaugh, to Incivility, to Caravans, to Violence, to the 2018 Midterm Elections, and Beyond

The United States of American is being torn about by political differences more than any time since the 1960s and maybe since the Civil War of the 1860s. This division was amplified by political events in the summer to fall of 2018. This time period could prove to be seminal in the history of the United States. This tearing apart came to the forefront and was amplified during the confirmation proceedings for Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. This book overviews the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation proceedings in detail. It then overviews these additional major events that occurred up to the end of November 2018.
