Wigwam Men's Super 60 6-Pack Tube Sock, White, One Size
No holes, but a couple of caveats
I have worn tube socks for decades. I used to buy the cheapest ones I could find, usually at a dollar store, and they would last for a long time. But when I needed new socks a couple of years ago (October 2012), I purchased two six-packs of Hane's socks at K-Mart. I thought I'd be set for quite a while. But after wearing and washing those socks just once they began to get holes in them in the toes. By last year (October 2013), they all had holes in them, so I logged onto Amazon to try to find ones that wouldn't be so useless. But as I read the reviews for Hane's, Fruit of the Loom, and other name brands, all of the reviews seemed to be saying the same thing: the socks all began getting holes in them very quickly. Some of the reviews even said the socks did not stay up very well, even with being over the calf socks. I never had such a problem even with the cheap dollar store socks. It is really discouraging how product quality has declined over the years.
But then I came across these Wigmam socks. I had never heard of this brand before, but the reviews were mostly positive, saying they did not get holes in them like other brands. So I ordered two packs. When they arrived, I could tell just by looking at them that they are heavier than most other tube socks, so I was hopeful they wouldn't get holes in them right away. And after six months, none of the pairs had gotten holes in them. I needed more socks as I change them quite often for different activities, so I ordered another pack in May 2014.
So now, in October 2014, some of the socks are a year old and some six months old. After all of that time and numerous wearings and washings, only a couple of the socks have holes in them. So I am satisfied with them in that respects. But there are a couple of caveats.
First, the socks are rather long, and I am rather short (5'1"); so they are too long for me, but they only come in one size. So I need to fold the tops down over themselves about 4". If I were to pull them all the way up, they would go over my knees. Double them down keeps them from falling down, but it also makes them a little too tight and a bit uncomfortable, and I cannot say how well they would stay up without doing so. Also, I am a powerlifter, and folding them down becomes a problem when I deadlift, as my fingers get caught onto the edges of the doubled-down material. So I need to remember to fold the top part underneath rather than on top when I deadlift, which is a pain. But if you are much taller than me, they will probably fit you just fine.
Second, being heavy, they are rather warm, especially with being doubled at the top. I have gotten used to them, so even in the summer that just passed, they didn't bother me too much. But some might find that especially troubling. But in the winter, it is a plus.
Third, they are more expensive than other brands and especially more expensive than the cheap dollar stores tube socks I used to be able to buy. But I guess in today's low-quality climate, you need to pay to get high quality. With these caveats, I am giving them four rather than five stars. But they still are far better than any other brands out there.
Fruit of the Loom Men's 10 Pair Value Pack Over-The-Calf-Tube, White, 6-12
Absolutely worthless
I have been wearing Wigman socks, but they are rather warm, so I got these for the summer. They fit the same as the Wigman's, which is to say, they are too long for me. They would go over my knee if I pulled them all the way up, so I have to double them over at the top. But then I am only 5'1" and wear a size 6.5 shoe, so most men would not have a problem with that. They are definitely thinner than the Wigman's, so they are cooler. They are comfortable; they stay up, and they look nice with the grey potion in the toes. This is supposed to be reinforcement to keep them from getting holes in the toes. I haven't had them long enough to know if that will be the case or not, but after a couple of washings, they are still just fine.
Update: The above review was written after I had wore a few of the pairs around my home, mainly while I was sitting at desktop PC in my home office or sitting or lying down watching TV. But then I wore one of the brand new pairs of socks for a powerlifting workout. It was bench assistance day, and I lifted for about 1-1/2 hours. When I took my sneakers off, both of my big toes were sticking out! Yes, holes in both of the socks after wearing them just once for something other than sitting down. As such, I am dropping my rating to one star. I guess these socks are okay if you are only going to lounge around your home in them. But if you plan on actually moving while wearing them, then buy the Wigman's socks. They might be a bit warm for the summer, but it was only after over a year of use that they began to develop holes, not after one use.
McDavid 3133 Two Pack Swim Supporter
They support and last
I do not like the wide bands on most supporters as they tend to curl up on me, which is uncomfortable. So I have always worn swim supporters, even though I haven't gone swimming in years. I wear them while lifting weights. The only two things that really matter about a supporter is if it supports and if it lasts. These McDavid supporters give plenty of support. I ordered them in May 2014, and they are still in fine condition in October, even after weekly use and washing. So I am giving them five stars.
BIKE BASJ17-XL Swimmer/Jogger Supporter (White, X-Large)
They support and last
I bought four of these Bike supporters in April 1011, and I am still using all four now in October 2014. In the 3-12 years since I got them they have stretched out some, but they still support sufficiently well that I can still wear them. So for being supportive and durable, I am giving them five stars. However, that is for when they were available with Amazon Prime. When I needed a couple of more pairs in May 2014, I was disappointed that these Bike supporters were no longer available with Amazon Prime, so I looks for ones that were and ordered McDavid 3133 Two Pack Swim Supporter.
12 Pair Brown Jersey Poly Cotton Work Glove with Knit Wrist One Dozen Pair Mens Size Large
Cheap price for good gloves
Cloth gloves are very nice to wear while working in the yard and for going on walks when it is a bit chilly outside, as my hands get chilly from swinging them. They're also good for wearing under winter gloves when it is really cold outside. Getting a dozen pairs of gloves for 10 bucks is a great buy, but I really did not need that many, so I gave half to my dad. They are a little large for me, but I am only 5"1'. But they are not so large as to make them unusable, and they fit my dad just fine (he's 5'5"). I'm not sure if I've been wearing the same pair or not as I just grab two out of a bag, but none of them are worn out yet, and I've worn and washed them several times. I've washed them in warm water and put them in the dryer without any damage to them. So for the price, I am giving them five stars.
Men's Low Rise Meryl Mesh Sports Shorts Front Tie Rope with Pockets
Comfortable, nice looking, convenient pocket
I wear gym shorts during the summer around my home and for working out year round. All of my current shorts are rather worn, so I was looking for new ones and came across these. They looked nice and were reasonably priced, so I ordered a dozen, three of each of the colors except white. I wasn't sure on what size to get, but the reviews said they tended towards the small size, so I got mediums. I am 5'1" but I have a 31-32" waist. The shorts fit just right in the waist, so I am glad I the mediums, as smalls would probably have been too tight. But that means they are longer than I like for shorts, coming down to my knees. That is fine for wearing around my home, but not for my powerlifting workouts. The legs would get in the way when deadlifting and when wrapping for squats. And they have a bit of a slick feel to them, so my butt would probably slide when I go into my arch for benches.
However, they are very comfortable for wearing around my home. They are rather thin, so that will make them feel cool for when the summer heat gets here. They also look very nice, and the pocket is very useful. It is just the right size to put my smart phone in. But I have no idea how long they will last as I've been wearing them for about a month at this writing. The picture is of me wearing the black shorts with a red T-shirt I got in my Fruit of the Loom Men's 4-Pack Pocket T-Shirt and a pair of socks from Fruit of the Loom Men's 10 Pair Value Pack Over-The-Calf-Tube, White, 6-12, both of which I also got from Amazon. My reviews of them are on their respective pages.
Fruit of the Loom Men's 4-Pack Pocket T-Shirt
Comfortable, and fit as expected
I wear pocket T-shirts all of the time in the summer, both around my home and when going out, but I needed new ones. I found these on Amazon at a reasonable price. The description said "colors may vary" so I didn't really take notice of what colors were pictured. As it turned out, I got just what was pictured: one each of red, green, grey, and black. If I had know this I would have ordered two of these. But instead, I ordered of these and one of Fruit of the Loom Men's Four-Pack Pocket Tee . The colors in that package were all rather strange and not as pictured. So get this pack if you like these colors.
On fit, I am only 5'1", but the smallest size they had was medium, so I got those. They fit loose, but are comfortable for wearing around my home, so that is not a problem. However, when I need new T-shirts for working out, I will need to find smalls. The picture (above) is of me wearing the red T-shirt from this package, along with the black of these shorts Men's Low Rise Meryl Mesh Sports Shorts Front Tie Rope with Pockets and a pair of socks from Fruit of the Loom Men's 10 Pair Value Pack Over-The-Calf-Tube, White, 6-12, both of which that I also got from Amazon. My reviews of them are on their respective pages.

Strange colors
I wear pocket T-shirts all of the time in the summer, both around my home and when going out, but I needed new ones. I found these on Amazon at a reasonable price. The description said "colors may vary" so I didn't really take notice of what colors were pictured. As it turned out, the colors area all rather strange. One is teal, I think. One is sort of grey. One is an ugly brown, and one I have no idea what the color is. Since I wanted a variety of colors, I also got a package of Fruit of the Loom Men's 4-Pack Pocket T-Shirt. The colors in were as pictured and much nicer. So I would say, if color matter to you, get that pack.
On fit, I am only 5'1", but the smallest size they had was medium, so I got those. They fit loose, but are comfortable for wearing around my home, so that is not a problem. However, when I need new T-shirts for working out, I will need to find smalls.
Hanes Men's Classics 6 Pack Crew Neck Tee
Comfortable at a good price
I got a pack of white ones of these to lounge around my home in. They are very comfortable and fit just fine. I am 5'1" and got smalls. They area bit long, but not excessively. I got them about four months ago and have been wearing and washing them weekly, and they are still in fine shape. And six for less than $15 with Amazon Prime is a good price. Definitely worthwhile.
7/8" 14k Gold Plating Over Sterling Silver 2-tone Fish and Cross Necklace on 18" Chain
Very nice looking, but small and hard to clasp
My parents got me this necklace for Christmas 2014. It looks very nice, but the pendant is kind of small and hard to see and the chain is hard to clasp.
R.H. Jewelry Stainless Steel Pendant, Christian Fish and Cross
Very nice and a good witness
My parents got me a gold fish/ cross necklace for Christmas 2014, but I wanted this silver one as well, so they got it for me for my birthday in 2015. And it is very nice. The chain is reasonably sturdy and to easy clasp. The pendant is a nice size and is easily seen against most clothing. It thus makes for a good witness. For those who don’t know, the fish was the earliest symbol of the Christians faith, for two reasons. First, fish are mentioned quite often in the Gospels. Second, the Greek word fish (Ichthus) forms an acronym in Greek that translated means, Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior.
I got this necklace in part to wear during my workouts and at powerlifting contests. I never wore a necklace while lifting before, or for anything else for that matter. But I really liked the fish/ cross pendant; that is why I had my parents get me both a gold and silver one. It is a great way to remind me where true strength comes from during my workouts and at contests.
In any case, wearing it for anything other than deadlifts did not go well. While doing decline benches during my bench assistance workout, I kept losing it in the back of my shirt. On squats, I thought the chain would be above where I place the bar, so it would not be a problem. But when I took the chain off, the clasp fall off, and I couldn’t find it. It must of gotten crushed somehow. But then earlier in the day before my bench workout, I just happened to see the tiny clasp on the cement floor in my basement, so I put it back on the necklace and put the necklace on and kept it on for the workout. But the chain kept getting caught under my neck as I pushed into my arch and was choking me, so I had to take it off.
On deadlifts, it would dangle around when I knelt down to change the weights, so I was concerned that it would distract me during the lift; but I didn’t notice it, and it didn’t get in the way at all. Given all of this, I will probably wear the necklace for deadlifts both in training and at contests, but I doubt I will wear it for squats and benches.
