No Viable Evangelical Alternatives to President Trump
In Darkness to Light Newsletter, Volume XVIII, Number 1 (V18N1), in the article Christianity Today, The Christian Post, and President Trump, I am responding to a Christianity Today (CT) editorial claiming evangelical Christians cannot support Donald Trump due to his alleged ungodliness and corruption. I respond by saying:
… what CT needs to do is to compare Trump to the alternative. That alternative is not a mythological perfect evangelical candidate. It is the very real far-left presidential candidates Dems have put forth. One of them will become President if Trump does not win reelection. Is CT ready to defend their socialistic and ungodly polices?
With the Democrat presidential primaries in full swing and the general election not far behind, in this article, I want to expand on this point by comparing Trump to the various Democrat (Dem) presidential candidates. I will focus on issues of most relevance to Christians.
A few points to note. First, I know this article is a bit on the long side. But there are half a dozen or so Dem candidates, and I wanted to included at least a comment or two on each one. There are also several relevant issues, and I wanted to touch on each one. However, I think the issues that are raised are important for American Christians to consider before going to the polls, so I hope the reader takes the time to read through the entire article.
Second, rather than running Parts Two and Three of my original article responding to the CT editorial in this newsletter and posting them on the website, I will be incorporating that material as a chapter in Volume One of my forthcoming three-volume set Dems Cannot Beat Trump, So They Impeach Trump. Those parts further defend Trump against the impeachment and other charges leveled against him. As such, it is best to read them in the context of my trilogy. Here, I will focus on comparing the Dem alternatives to Trump.
Third, I have replaced the use of foul language in quotations with “*expletive*”.
Fourth, “LGBTQ” stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning.
Finally, an extensive list of references is posted on a separate page on the website. The references are arranged by topic in the order in which they are discussed in this article. These document that what I am saying about the Dem candidates and their plans are true. That is important, as some of what I am about to report might sound so outrageous you’ll think I am making it up. But be assured, I am not. These extensive references will also enable the interested reader to study these important issues in more detail.
Behavior and Policies of the Dem Candidates
On Trump’s alleged unchristian behavior, I discuss in the above article and will expand on it in my forthcoming book how that has been far exaggerated by Dems and the mainstream media (MSM). Yes, Trump is a flawed human being, as we all are, but he is not this notoriously ungodly man that Dems and the MSM try to make him out to be.
And to reiterate, Trump should not be compared to a mythological ideal evangelical candidate but to his real-world potential rivals. Many of them have used foul language, just like Trump. That was seen in the now famous video of Joe Biden bragging about his quid pro quo with Ukraine:
“They were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, ... we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, ‘You have no authority. You’re not the president.’ … I said, call him. I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. ... I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, *expletive*. He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time” (PJ Media).
It was this quid pro quo of Joe that Trump wanted investigated that led to Trump being impeached. It was a legitimate request, but Dems spun it into Trump trying to cheat to get reelected, as I will discuss in my forthcoming trilogy. But here, note the foul language and potential corruption on the part of Joe Biden. He also often refers to his “big *expletive* deal” comment to Obama when the Affordable Care Act (aka., Obamacare) was passed.
But Joe is not alone in these regards. Dems in general have been using foul language with increasing frequency over the past few years. Most of the current Dem presidential candidates have avoided doing so, but you do have Michael Bloomberg claiming, “We’re scaring the living *expletive* out of Trump.” And when he was still in the race, Beto O’Rourke was even worse. He regularly dropped “F-bombs” at his rallies, to the shock of the tens of attendees. Other former Dem presidential candidates also regularly used foul language on the campaign trail.
To be clear, I find the use of foul language to be offensive and completely unnecessary, be it by Trump or by a Dem. Hence why I am bleeping it out in this article, as I do in all of my writings. But it is disingenuous to single out Trump in this regard, as Dems are just as guilty.
The Democrat presidential candidates are not stellar examples of Christian behavior either. And their policies would be devastating to America. Joe Biden enriched his son Hunter and other relatives through his corrupt activities as first a Senator then as Vice President. Again, that corrupt activity was at the heart of the impeachment fiasco.
But Joe is not alone in such corrupt behavior. All of the Dem frontrunners have enriched themselves or their relatives through their “pubic service,” as demonstrated in Peter Schweizer’s new book Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite. Included in his book are exposes of the corruption of current and former Dem presidential candidates Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Amy Klobuchar, among other Dems.
In addition, Elizabeth Warren habitually lies about her personal history. Sanders has spent many years condemning “millionaires and billionaires,” but now that he is a millionaire himself, he has changed that to just “billionaires.” He became a millionaire who owns three homes via capitalism by condemning capitalism. Can you say “hypocrite?”
And when a cure for the Coronavirus is discovered, it won’t be Bernie’s beloved Cuban health care system that discovers it. Nor will it be any other socialized medical system of the ilk that not just Bernie but most of the Dem candidates are pushing. It will be the capitalism-based “Big Pharma” here in the USA that Bernie and the other Dems constantly malign that will discover it. And once again, it will be America and our capitalistic system to the rescue of a world crisis.
But the Dem candidates with their socialist ideals will destroy all of this. Their “Medicare for All” health care plans would stifle the innovation needed to deal with threats like the Coronavirus, while bankrupting America in the process. Add in the Green New Deal that Bernie and most of the rest of the Dem candidates back, and American’s economy will collapse, to the harm of millions of Americans and of people around the world.
Michael Bloomberg plagiarized his position papers, showing they are not his own ideas. The reason for that is he is now running from his old positions, like Stop & Frisk, so it is not clear what he believes. But now Mike is trying to buy an election, something that has never before been done in American politics. But then again, in the February 25, 2020 Dem debate, in a “Freudian slip,” Mike claimed he “bought” 21 House seats for the Dems in 2018.
Bloomberg also has numerous financial ties to China that could affect his dealings with China if he were to become President. That has already been seen in him saying about the Chinese President and Communist Party Chairman, “Xi Jinping is not a dictator. He has to satisfy his constituents, or he’s not going to survive…. No government survives without the will of the majority of its people. He has to deliver services.” Talk about a complete lack of knowledge of world affairs. But Bloomberg doesn’t want to risk upsetting Xi, lest it hurt his business dealings in China.
Homosexuality and Abortion
Most notably for our purposes, Pete Buttigieg claims to be a Christian, But he is a married homosexual, who claims, “God made me this way” and “Being married to Chasten has made me a better human being because it has made me more compassionate, more understanding, more self-aware and more decent. My marriage to Chasten has made me a better man. And yes, Mr. Vice President (Pence), it has moved me closer to God.”
Pete often quotes Scripture out of context to try to condemn evangelicals for not supporting his liberal policies. He does so while ignoring the multitude of Bible passages that teach marriage should be between one man and one woman, as demonstrated throughout my two-volume set God’s Sex Plan.
Pete and the rest of the Dem candidates all support abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy. By doing so, the Dem candidates ignore the multitude of Bible passages teaching a child in the womb is a human being, a person, distinct and separate from the mother, as also demonstrated in my Sex Plan set. In those books, I also show genetics, biology, and criminal law teach the same.
On the latter, in those books, I state that confusion over the personhood of an unborn child is often seen in news reports about the number of casualties in mass shootings. That was seen here in the Pittsburgh area, when a shooting occurred at a backyard barbecue back in 2018. The local news media consistently reported it as, “five were killed, including a pregnant woman” or “five were killed, plus an unborn baby.” It was not until after the final verdict in the trial that I found out the suspect “had faced six counts of murder” (Trib). If that was the case, why did the media not report is as “six were killed?”
Maybe they were following Buttigieg in believing, “there’s a lot of parts of the Bible that talk about how life begins with breath,” meaning the first breath a baby takes outside of the womb (Life News). But of course, the Bible never says any such thing. The closest I can think of is Genesis 2:7, where it is said, “And GOD formed the man [of] dust from the earth and breathed into his face [Heb., nostrils] [the] breath of life, and the man became into a living soul” (ALT). But that is a reference to Adam being created, not conceived and born.
The Bible does refer to the “breath of life” elsewhere (Gen 6:17, 7:15, Rev 11:11). But the purpose of breathing is to take in oxygen and to remove carbon dioxide. A baby in the womb does that, through the mother’s placenta and umbilical cord. As such, the “breath of life” is in a preborn baby just as much as in a post-born baby. Moreover, the Bible consistently teaches there is no distinction between a preborn and post-born baby, as demonstrated in my Sex Plan books. As such, this is just one example of how “Mayor Peter” misuses the Bible to support his leftist ideas, along with his misunderstanding of basic biology.
But be assured, Pete is not the only Dem candidate who believes such. All the Dems plan on “protecting reproductive rights,” which is to say, to ensure abortion on demand remains legal through all nine months of pregnancy. They also want to force those of us who disagree with abortion to pay for it. This includes the supposed moderate Amy Klobuchar. As part of her “100 Actions for Her First 100 Days as President,” she has following:
Senator Klobuchar will reverse the Trump Administration’s decision to change the Title X program to ban health providers like Planned Parenthood from receiving funding under Title X. She will end the global and domestic gag rules, and she will fight for legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade and protects women’s reproductive rights (Medium).
Bloomberg reportedly told a pregnant employee to “kill it.” He denies saying that, but she has a voice mail recording in which he apologized for the statement, saying it was a joke. Some joke.
Meanwhile, Trump is the most pro-life President we have ever had. Representative Mark Walker (R. NC) was on Mike Huckabee’s TBN show on January 25, 2020. He said that in the first two years of President Trump being in office, they passed more pro-life legislation than in the previous 40 years. Of course, that is the first two years, as in his third year, Democrats took control of the House, and since then, all that has gotten done is for them to investigate and impeach the President, just as I warned would happen in my book Tearing the USA Apart.
But in the midst of the impeachment fiasco, Trump was the first President to speak in person to the annual Pro-Life Rally. In addition, he has nominated, and the Senate has confirmed, 190+ conservative federal judge appointments and two Supreme Court Justices. Those appointments open the door to ending the holocaust of abortion. They also help to protect religious and other freedoms. These are the things Christians should be concerned about, not Trump’s tweets.
Buttigieg’s Homosexuality vs. Trump’s Sexual Improprieties
With Pete Buttigieg being married to another man, it could mean the first time we have a “First Man” in the White House rather than a “First Lady” would not be because of a married woman becoming President but because of a married male homosexual becoming President. That should matter more to Christians than alleged past infidelities of Trump.
The following comments from Michael Brown of “The Stream” expresses the situation very well:
President Trump is not flaunting his past immorality, nor is he pushing it presently. Instead, when the ugly tape of his lewd comments went public, he said, “I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize. … I pledge to be a better man tomorrow and will never, ever let you down.”
In stark contrast, Mayor Pete has talked about how his homosexual relationship to his “husband” Chasten has brought him closer to God. He has kissed his partner at public rallies. He is pushing his homosexuality, not apologizing for it.
You better believe that he will do everything in his power to normalize homosexual relationships even more in the eyes of America. He will also do his best to marginalize those who are convinced that these relationships are contrary to the will of God.
Buttigieg, Warren, and Children
Pete is already making efforts to “normalize homosexual relationships.” This was seen in a town hall on February 22, 2020. He encouraged a nine-year old boy in coming out as a homosexual. If Pete had any integrity, he would have told the boy he was too young to make such a life changing decision. But Pete was too anxious to use the boy as a prop at his town hall to show such integrity, to the cheers of the crowd. Pete’s husband then escorted the boy off of the stage.
As bad as this is, it is not as bad as Elizabeth Warren promising to allow a “young trans person” (which is to say, a nine-year old child girl suffering from gender dysphoria) to pick her Secretary of Education. To be clear, Warren promised the confused little girl who thinks she’s a boy that she would let her interview her nominees for Secretary of Education. Warren promised she would only nominate someone if the little girl approved of the person.
Instead of that radical promise, Elizabeth should have told the girl she is too young to make such a life changing decision as being transgender, and she should have told her mother to get her daughter the help she needs to deal with the underlying psychological issues causing her daughter’s gender dysphoria.
However, you cannot expect such statements of truth from Dem candidates intent on using children to their political benefit. It should be noted, in both of these cases, only the mother was seen on stage with the child. A father was nowhere to be found. That dovetails with the importance of fathers that I stress in my Sex Plan books.
But here, it truly is despicable that both Pete and Elizabeth think nothing of using nine-year olds to push their aberrant sexual agendas. Consider such current acts on the part of leading Dem candidates before you say you won’t vote for Donald Trump because of decades old allegations of sexual infidelities. Along with homosexuality and transgender/ transsexual issues, I address those sexual allegations against Trump in my Sex Plan books.
The Equality Act
All of the Dem candidates are fully behind the LGBTQ agenda. That includes support for the so-called Equality Act. With that name, it might sound well and good, but when you dig into it, there are many problems.
The Equality Act would codify the allowing of men who identify as women to use women’s bathrooms and locker rooms. This will have the effect of forcing women, and that includes high school girls, to shower with men and boys who claim to be female.
The Equality Act would also destroy women’s sports by allowing men and boys who identify as female to compete in women’s sports. I give several examples of such in my Sex Plan books, and more cases have occurred since those books were published. There have now been numerous cases of males who identify as females taking away championships and scholarships from real females, while pushing the records so high that no true woman can ever hope to break them.
In fact, a lawsuit was recently filed in Connecticut by three female high school track athletes who lost scholarships for this very reason. They are basing their lawsuit on the protection for equality in women’s sports in Title IX. However, the Equality Act would render this lawsuit mute, as it would effectively override Title IX, ensuring that boys would be able to continue to compete as girls. Overall, the Equality Act would undo 50 years of progress for women’s equality, not just in sports but in all areas of life.
The Equality Act was passed by the Dem-controlled House in 2019 with 240 sponsors, 236 Democrats and four Republicans, but it was DOA in the Republican-controlled Senate. But even if it had been passed by the Senate, President Trump would have vetoed it. However, all of the current and former Dem candidates have voiced support for the Equality Act. As such, if Dems retain control of the House and take the Senate and Presidency, then it will become law.
If it does, be assured, your church will not be immune from being forced to allow men who identify as women to use the women’s bathrooms. And if your church has say a softball league, forget about having separate divisions for men and women. It would also force churches that only ordain men to ordain women who identify as men. Refusal to do so could result in your church losing its tax-exempt status.
Dems Restricting First and Second Amendment Freedoms
To expand on that last sentence, I mention previously about Trump’s conservative judges “protecting religious and other freedoms.” The last line in an earlier block quote about “marginalizing” those who disagree with the LGBTQ agenda is what I am referring to. That could include the government shutting down churches that refuse to perform same-sex weddings and to ordain homosexuals. Yes, that is part of the Democrat agenda.
You see, one reason Beto O’Rourke’s campaign failed is he was too honest in articulating the Dems’ agenda. For instance, during CNN’s Equality Town Hall on October 10, 2019, Beto called for churches who refuse to perform same-sex wedding ceremonies to lose their tax-exempt status. However, losing its tax-exempt status would force most churches out of business. If that doesn’t work, then the church could be sued out of existence for refusing to perform a homosexual wedding.
Along with this assault on the first Amendment, Beto made the mistake of articulating The Dems’ plan to weaken the Second Amendment. In an ABC Democrat debate on September 12, 2019, Beto declared, “*Expletive*, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We’re not going to allow it to be used against a fellow American anymore.”
Biden vastly exaggerated the number of gun deaths in America when he said in the February 25, 2020 Dem debate, “A hundred and fifty million people have been killed since 2007, when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability.” That ridiculously high number was cited to bolster Joe’s desire for more gun control. The real number is a comparatively paltry 413,000, with half of those from suicides (Trib Live. AP).
Meanwhile, Bloomberg is so opposed to religious freedom, he did not allow a priest, minister, rabbi, or imam to speak during the ten-year memorial of 9/11.
Buttigieg, Klobuchar, Sanders, Warren, and the rest of the Dems might not be so forthright in declaring their intentions in regard to the First and Second Amendments, but if pressed, which the MSM has not been doing, they would agree with these sentiments. That can be seen in Warren saying she wants to restrict free speech by stopping “disinformation” online.
This proposal is specifically in regard to “users who spread lies intended to undermine voter turnout.” But once you start restricting “disinformation” in one area, it is just a small step to doing so in another. And who decides what is disinformation versus real information?
How about social-media users who assert once widely accepted scientific statements that have fallen into disfavor — statements such as “life begins at conception” or “there are only two genders”? What about the rhetoric of “climate-change deniers”? (New York Post).
Or what about those of us who declare “Jesus is the Way the Truth and the
Life, and no one goes to the Father but through Him?” (see John 14:6). Will that
be declared to be “disinformation” and restricted?
Trump Protecting First and Second Amendment Freedoms
Meanwhile, President Trump has been a stance defender of both the First and Second Amendments in all their aspects. Yes, Trump has railed against “fake news,” but he has not proposed censorship like the Dems have done. In fact, he has taken steps to prevent censorship online and on college campuses. Trump has also issued executive orders and proclamations protecting religious freedom.
However, the problem with issuing executive orders rather than having Congress pass bills that the President signs into law is the next President can simply rescind those executive orders with additional executive orders. You can be sure that if any of the current Dem candidates win the White House, he or she will do just that. That is that much more reason to reelect President Trump and to elect a Republican House and Senate so that such orders can be put into law to make them harder to rescind.
Trump has also defended gun rights and the right of we the people to self-defense. If you don’t think this is an issue of relevance to Christians, you must have forgotten about the following incident:
A man shot and killed two people during a church service in White Settlement, Texas, on Sunday morning [12/29/19] before two members of the church security team shot and killed him, authorities said.
City Police Chief J.P. Bevering said the shooter entered West Freeway Church of Christ and sat down in the sanctuary, then stood, pulled out a shotgun and shot two parishioners.
“There was a security team inside the church, and they eliminated the threat,” Bevering said (3WTKR).
This security team was only possible because Republican Texas lawmakers had relaxed Texas’ conceal carry requirements and changed the law to allow people to carry firearms in houses of worship. That was in response to the two mass shootings that occurred in Texas over the summer of 2019. Many Dems at that time complained that was the exact opposite of what should be done. They said stricter gun laws were the answer.
However, those Republican Texas lawmakers proved correct, as those changes in Texas laws saved many lives in this situation. However, if most any of the radical Dem presidential candidates get into office, they will work to have federal laws override these state laws, which will have the effect of taking away our right to defend ourselves in our homes and in our churches.
Conclusion
All of this is to emphasize there is not a viable evangelical alternative to President Trump. Moreover, I hope my comments show why Christians need to be informed on political issues, as religious and other freedoms are issues that affects all Christians, while sexual sins are a major blot on our country and are destroying the lives of many Americans.
As mentioned, I am hard at work on my three-volume set Dems Cannot Beat Trump, So They Impeach Trump. God-willing, it will be available in the not too distant future. It will discuss the impeachment fiasco and related issues in detail.
Before that fiasco began, I was working on a book to be titled Breakdown of American Society. Among other things, it was going to address issues related to the First and Second Amendments. I hope to return to it after finishing my Impeach Trump set.
But my two-volume set God’s Sex Plan is already available. Those books discuss the sexual issues raised in this discussion in detail and touch on the political issues as well.
