Philippians 4

1So then, my beloved and longed for brothers [and sisters], my joy and victor’s wreath [or, crown], in this way be standing firm in [the] Lord, beloved. 2I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to be thinking the same [thing] [fig., to be in agreement] in [the] Lord. 3Yes, I ask you also, genuine fellow-worker [or, loyal Syzygus], be assisting these [women] who strove together with me in the Gospel, with Clement also, and the others, my co-workers, whose names [are] in [the] Scroll of Life.

4Be rejoicing in [the] Lord always! I will say again, be rejoicing! 5Let your* gentleness [or, considerateness] be known to all people. The Lord [is] near! 6Stop being anxious about anything, but in every[thing] by prayer and by petition, with thanksgiving, be letting your* requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, the [peace] surpassing all understanding, will guard [or, protect] your* hearts and your* thoughts in Christ Jesus.

8[As to] the rest [or, Finally], brothers [and sisters], as many [things] as are true, as many as [are] worthy of respect [or, honorable], as many as [are] righteous, as many as are pure [or, innocent], as many as [are] acceptable [or, lovely], as many as [are] commendable, if [there is] any moral excellence [or, virtue], and if any[thing] deserving to be praised, be meditating on [or, be thinking about] these things. 9What [things] you* both learned and received, and heard and saw in me, these [things] be practicing, and the God of peace will be with you*.

10But I rejoiced in the [Lord] greatly, that now at last you* revived thinking on behalf of me [fig., were again concerned about me], for which indeed you* were thinking [fig., concerned] but lacked opportunity. 11Not that I speak in respect to need, for I [have] learned to be content in whatever [state] I am. 12I know both [how] to be living in humble circumstances, and I know [how] to be living in abundance; in every [place] and in all [circumstances] I have learned the secret of being filled and [of] being hungry, both to be living in abundance and to be having need. 13I am capable of all [things] in Christ, the One strengthening me!

14Nevertheless, you* did well, having shared with [me] in my affliction [or, hardship]. 15Now you* also know, Philippians, that in [the] beginning of the Gospel, when I went out from Macedonia, no assembly [or, church] shared with me in [the] matter [of] giving and receiving, except you* only; 16because even in Thessalonica, both once and twice [fig., again and again] you* sent [something] for my need. 17Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit [which is] increasing in your* account. 18But I am receiving back all [things], and I am overflowing. I have been filled, having received from Epaphroditus the [things] from you*, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, acceptable to God. 19Now my God will fully supply all your* need [or, your* every need] according to His riches [fig., abundance] in glory in Christ Jesus!

20Now to our God and Father [be] the glory into the ages of the ages! [fig., forever and ever!] So be it!

21Greet every holy one [or, saint] in Christ Jesus; the brothers [and sisters] with me greet you*. 22All the holy ones [or, saints] greet you*, but especially the [members] of the household of Caesar.

23The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you* all. So be it!
