For my commentaries about the
Coronavirus crisis, Coronavirus Articles
and Commentaries.
This page mostly contains short comments I’ve posted about news articles on Trib Live. This is the website for three Pittsburgh area newspapers, including my hometown newspaper. I read their website every day. Trib Live is left leaning in its perspective across all three of its newspapers and on its website. The comments at the end of articles are also mostly left leaning, being posted mostly by people from the very blue city of Pittsburgh. As such, my voice is rather unique. That is why I decided to start posting comments, to counter the liberal perspective. There is a 750-character limit to comments, so I need to be concise in my comments, which is not always easy for me to do. The title links open in a new window. The comments are posted in reverse chronological order. Newest on top, oldest at the bottom.
“America was stunned on May 4, 1970, when rally turned to riot at Kent State University. They say they students scared the guards, though the troops were battle dressed. Four students earned a new degree, the Bachelor of Bullets.”
The above
is from memory from a Classic Rock song. I’m not sure if it is the song
mentioned in this article or not. I have no idea why I remember those lyrics, as
I was only nine at the time, so I don’t really remember this tragedy. All I
remember was all of the debates about it afterwards.

Pittsburgh argues it has legal authority to regulate use of firearms
“A third bill, dubbed ‘extreme risk protection,’ would permit courts to temporarily remove guns from a person deemed to be a public threat.”
This bill is the scariest of all. It turns the presumption of innocence on its
head. First, they take away your guns, then you have to prove you are sane
enough to have them. That could take weeks or months and cost thousands of
dollars in lawyer fees. In the meantime, you are defenseless, and the person who
filed the complaint knows that.

Police find woman’s body in refrigerator, charge McKees Rocks man with abusing corpse
My heart and prayers go out to the family of Kristy and to the people who found the body. I am sure that was a gruesome site they will never forget. Also, do not miss the word “unplugged.” The stench when they opened the fridge had to be unbearable.

Justice Department dropping Michael Flynn’s Trump-Russia case
Back on 1/2/19, I wrote:
I have already written much about the ill-conceived Muller investigation. But in sum here, to date, it has found no evidence of the Trump/ Russian collusions hoax, no evidence of obstruction of justice. The only prosecutions have been of crimes completely unrelated to Russian interference in the 2016 election or crimes caused by the investigation, which is to say, lying to the FBI. The latter is the case with Michael Flynn.
But what should be the focus of that case is the persecutory injustice carried on against Flynn, that of the FBI deceiving him into lying. It came out in his trial that he was told he did not need a lawyer when the FBI interviewed him. Instead, the FBI made it seem like it was a causal conversation that had no legal implications for him.
The FBI also did not tell him they already had a transcript of his phone call with the Russian Ambassador. If they were looking for the truth about that call, they would have done so and had Flynn verify what was said. Instead, they used that transcript to trap him, saying he lied because he could not remember exactly what he said in that phone call, which occurred weeks before the interview. But who could?
All that I wrote here has been proven to be true with the revelations of late.

MSNBC Deception
Attorney General William Barr gave an interview on CBS. He was asked how history would judge him for dropping the case against General Michael Flynn. Barr first said with a chuckle, “It depends on who writes the history, as, history is written by the winners.” But he then went on to talk seriously and say history would judge him as acting correctly for upholding the rule of law, as Flynn was charged unjustly.
However, when MSNBC played a clip from the interview, they only played the first half of his answer, when he was being less than serious. They omitted the second half of him talking seriously about the rule of law. They then criticized him for not taking the issue seriously and not talking about the rule of law!
Yes, that is how deceptive MSNBC is and why I cannot understand why anyone would
trust anything from that station. Remember, it was MSNBC (among others) that
told us nonstop for three years that Trump colluded with Russia. We now know
that idea is and always was a hoax. But MSNBC has never apologized to its
viewers for lying to them for three years. They just moved on to their next
unjustified attack against the President and members of his administration.

AG William Barr says he doesn’t expect criminal probe into Obama or Biden
“Trump and his closest allies have been demanding that the Democrats be prosecuted for what he calls “Obamagate,” a vague conspiracy theory that’s not backed by evidence. He’s accused the Obama administration of working against him in the “biggest political crime and scandal” in U.S. history.”
“Not every abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, is necessarily a federal crime,” Barr said.”
The
first paragraph is bias reporting of Bloomberg News. The second statement is a
reasoned statement of fact by the AG. Yes, it is clear that Obama and his cohort
Biden engaged in unprecedented acts to thwart the incoming administration. It is
just that they managed to do so while skirting a breaking of any actual criminal
statute.

Senate panel approves subpoena in Hunter Biden probe
“There is no evidence of wrongdoing by the Bidens, and Hunter Biden has denied using his influence with his father to aid Burisma.”
The media continues to repeat this Dem talking point from the impeachment. I will be addressing this claim and all things impeachment if I ever get my books done on this fiasco.

Supreme Court blocks House from Mueller grand jury material
“Mueller’s 448-page report, issued in April 2019, stopped short’ of reaching conclusions about Trump’s conduct, including whether he obstructed justice, to avoid stepping on the House’s impeachment power.”
No, the Mueller report
found no member of the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, and there was
insufficient evidence of obstruction. We now know there should never have been a
Mueller investigation, as there was never probable cause for it. That has been
proven by the sworn depositions of Clapper and others from 2017-18, in which
they admitted there was no evidence of Trump/ Russia collusion, while at the
same time they were on cable news saying there was such evidence. As such, any
claims of “obstruction” is “fruit of the poisonous tree” and should be
discarded.

AP source: Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen to be released from prison
This is good news, but
it does not go far enough. As I say elsewhere, there never should have been a
Mueller investigation. As such, any convictions from it should be vacated as
“fruit of the poisonous tree.” Cohen and Manafort should be freed period, and
the judge in the Flynn case should stop playing politics and let that case be
dropped now. All of these men should then sue the FBI for unlawful prosecution
and their overly aggressive tactics. What was done to all of these men in the
effort to get Trump on trumped up charges was inexcusable and cannot be allowed
to happen again.

Biden: If you can’t choose me over Trump, ‘you ain’t black’
The only way
Joe will win in November is if he stays holed up in his basement and keeps his
mouth shut until then. As it is, every time he opens his mouth, he inserts his
foot.

Ramadan Deaths
Ramadan just ended. My heart breaks over the hundreds of deaths that occurred at the hands of ISIS terrorists.
Wait a minute! There were zero deaths and zero terrorist attacks. It was while Obama was President that we saw a wave of ISIS terrorist attacks and deaths during the month of Ramadan. But since President Trump won the victory over the caliphate, ISIS has been defanged and is no longer a threat.
I just wanted to remind
people about this great achievement of President Trump that the media has all
but ignored.

The First Impeachment of Donald J. Trump
This three-volume set covers the impeachment of Donald J. Trump that occurred over the fall of 2019 to the winter of 2020. It was yet one more attempt to oust the President from office by Democrats, who never accepted he won in 2016. A complaint about a phone call between President Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky led to an impeachment inquiry to begin in early September 2019. Along the way, the corruption of Joe Biden that Trump wanted investigated and which led to the impeachment inquiry is discussed.
The above commentaries were posted in May 2020.
