APT Apex Bench Press Shirt

By Gary F. Zeolla

The following messages were posted in the Weight Trainers United forum and on my MySpace blog.

I just got an APT Apex single-ply bench press shirt. And believe it or not, it seems to fit just right on the first try! The chest plate is very tight. I cannot pull my arms back at all with it. The arms are not real tight. I can get a couple of fingers in them. But I gather from reviews that is how it is supposed to fit.

I was able to get it on and off myself, but barely. I had someone around just in case, and it did help to have him pull the shirt down in front and back, and it would be easier to get off with some help. But at least I know I can manage myself if I have to.

I won’t actually use it for a workout for a while, but I am very excited about it. I am guessing it will take quite a bit of weight to be able to touch with it. But that is all the more reason for me to wait to try it. With just recovering from my injuries, I’m not handling enough weight now.

But after I finish my current routine this week, I will be starting my “off-season” training for the rest of the summer. Part of that will be to do reverse band benches. Those should get me used to handling heavier weights and to pulling the bar down. Then I’ll be ready for the shirt.

I'll post more later about this shirt after I actually try it for a workout.
