Eden Foods, Sea Salt, French Celtic 14 oz

Unrefined and all natural

The idea behind this salt is that it is unrefined, so it contains the naturally occurring nutrients in sea salt. But the amounts are so small, I'm not sure if this really makes any difference. But Eden Foods website says it is taken from "unpolluted marshes" in France, so it should not contain heavy metals and other contaminants. But what I like most about it is it does not contain any added ingredients, so there is nothing artificial. But this means there are no anti-caking agents, so it tends to clump together, especially if moisture gets into it. But that is why it is nice it comes in a glass jar, so that keeps the moisture out. And after I put it in a salt shaker (using a funnel), I put foil on top to keep the moisture out. I then shake it, holding my fingers on the foil before each use, and that breaks it up so that it sprinkles easily. Some say this salt taste better than regular sea salt, but I cannot tell the difference. But I like that it is rather fine, so it covers a food rather well without having to use a lot. Eden Foods also has a similar product that gets it salt from from Portugal. It's a little less expensive, so I might try it next time see (Eden Foods, Sea Salt, 16 oz).

Simply Organic, Garlic Salt

Best tasting seasoning ever!

The ingredients in the seasoning are simple: Sea salt, organic garlic, silicon dioxide (an anti-caking agent), organic parsley. The silicon dioxide does give me pause, but since this is certified organic, I assume that is a natural ingredient, and it does not cause me problems with my multiple chemical sensitivities. And it does keep the seasoning from clumping, so it sprinkles easily. The other ingredients are all very healthy. But most of all, this garlic salt makes everything I put it on taste great! Meat, rice, veggies, soup, eggs, whatever, it enhances the flavor to such a degree that sometimes I just cannot get over how good it tastes. I sue it often.

Simply Organic, All-Seasons Salt

A very tasty seasoning

There's a nice mix of spices in this seasoning: Sea salt, organic paprika, organic cane sugar, organic garlic, organic onion, spices (organic celery seed, organic oregano, organic turmeric), silicon dioxide (an anti-caking agent). It tastes good on eggs, stir fried veggies, and other foods. I use it on occasion, as an alternative to Simply Organic's Garlic Salt. But the latter is tastier.

Simply Organic, Celery Salt

An okay seasoning

This seasoning only contains: Sea salt, organic celery seed. It does not contain silicon dioxide like Simply Organic's Garlic Salt and All-Seasons Salt. Some would find that a plus, but it means this seasoning does not sprinkle nearly as easily as those seasonings. You really have to shake the bottle to get any to come out, and it takes a lot to be able to taste it. And after all of that, it is not really worth the effort. It tastes okay, but not near as good as the other two salts.

Simply Organic, Garlic Powder

Good, but fresh garlic is better

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic Garlic. It tastes good and sprinkles easily, even without an anti-caking agent.  But the taste is not near as good as mincing fresh garlic, and it would not be as healthy as freshly minced garlic. But when I don't have the time to mince garlic, or don't have any on hand, then this garlic powder works in a pinch.

Simply Organic, Onion Powder

Good, but fresh onion is better

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic Onion. It tastes good and sprinkles easily, even without an anti-caking agent.  But the taste is not near as good as mincing fresh onion, and it would not be as healthy as freshly minced onion. But when I don't have the time to mince onion, or don't have any on hand, then this onion powder works in a pinch.

Simply Organic, Minced Onion

Stronger taste than powder

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic Onion. It has a stronger taste than the powder. So when I do not have the time to mince my own onion, this works well. But the large chunks do nto fit very well through the small holes in the lid, so you really have to shake it to get the onion to come out. and it works best in a food with liquid to rehydrate the onion chunks.

Simply Organic, Black Pepper

Strong taste

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic Pepper. It has a stronger taste than commercial pepper, and it tastes very good. I especially like it on eggs. It sprinkles easily, with no clumping.

Simply Organic, Crushed Red Pepper

Spicy, but holes need to be bigger

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic red pepper. It adds a nice zing to anything it is added to. I especially like it on stir fried veggies, but it is also good on pizza, eggs, soup, or anything that you want to have a medium spicy taste to it. The only problem is the chunks are about as big as the holes, so it does not sprinkle very well. You really got to shake it to get the spice to come out. The top is the same as on other Simply Organic seasonings, but with this product being crushed rather than powdered, the holes really need to be bigger.

Simply Organic, All-Purpose Seasoning

An okay seasoning

There are a lot of ingredients in this seasoning: Organic onion, organic black pepper, organic garlic, organic parsley, organic celery seed, organic tomato powder (organic tomato, guar gum), organic basil, organic thyme, organic oregano, organic sage, organic coriander. As such, it is hard to pin down the taste. But to me, the oregano flavor comes through the strongest, so this spice is best on Italian foods. But for that, I prefer to put in my own mix of spices. Thus I do not use this seasoning that often.

Simply Organic, Italian Seasoning

Good for Italian dishes

This seasoning contains: Organic oregano, organic marjoram, organic thyme, organic basil, organic rosemary, organic sage. These all make for a good tasting spaghetti sauce. It is also good just to sprinkle on Italian foods and pizza. But I prefer to get individual oregano and other spices for my own mixture.

Simply Organic, Oregano

Strong tasting oregano

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic Oregano. It has a strong taste, so I do not need to use a lot to give my spaghetti sauce that Italian taste, along with other spices and garlic salt. Also good on pizza.

Simply Organic, Bay Leaf

Good for spag sauce

Just organic bay leaves. But that makes it ideal to use when making spaghetti sauce and soups.

Simply Organic, Parsley

A mild taste

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic parsley. Like any other parsley, it has a mild taste. I mainly use it on chicken. Brush the chicken with olive oil, then sprinkle garlic powder and this parsley on it, and bake. Taste very good, and the parsley adds a nice color to the chicken. It is also good in spaghetti sauce, meatloaf, and I am sure a few other dishes.

Simply Organic, Chili Powder

A medium hot spice

This seasoning contains: Organic chili powder, organic cumin, organic oregano, organic coriander, organic garlic, silicon dioxide (an anti-caking agent), organic allspice, organic cloves. So it has much more than just chili powder. This blunts the heat somewhat, but it does give it a more robust flavor. It makes making chili very easy. You really do not need much more than this, except for maybe some sea salt. It also tastes good on stir fried veggies or anything you want some "kick" in.

Simply Organic, Lemon Pepper

Good on fish

This seasoning contains: Organic lemon peel, organic black pepper, sea salt, organic cane sugar, organic garlic, organic onion, organic thyme, silicon dioxide (an anti-caking agent). It would mainly use it on fish. Brush the fish with olive oil, then sprinkle on this seasoning. It tastes very good. But, unfortunately, I found out I was allergic to cinnamon, so I can no longer use it.

Simply Organic, Cinnamon

Great in oatmeal

This seasoning has one ingredient: Organic cinnamon. I would mainly use this in my morning oatmeal, and it taste really good. But, unfortunately, I found out I was allergic to cinnamon, so I can no longer use it.
