Multi Easy Powder
(Jarrow Formulas)
NOTICE: I no longer recommend this or any other mega-dose supplement. For details, see the article Folly of Mega-Dose Supplements. It is best to get your nutrients from food, not supplements, as discussed in my God-given Foods Eating Plan and Creationist Diet: Second Edition books. However, if you are intent on taking a mega-dose supplement, then this supplement would be better than most. Therefore, I have left the following description as it was when I was still taking this product.
Jarrow Formulas' Multi-Easy Powder is one of the best multiple vitamin/ mineral supplement I have found. I like this multi for several reasons.
First, it is a powder. As such, the possible problem of a tablet or capsule not dissolving is not even an issue. The supplement is already dissolved. You just mix one scoop into any liquid, and it dissolves with no problems or lumping. It even tastes good.
Second, I have always believed it is best to split up one's supplements as much as possible. The body can only absorb so much at once. And with this supplement being a powder, you can split up the daily amount into as many doses per day as you want. One manner in which I have used it to mix one scoop of Multi Easy into each quart of reconstituted protein powders, which I would consume in four servings spread out over the day, so I would automatically divide the daily serving into four doses.
Third, this supplement is especially high in the antioxidant nutrients. The amounts all fall within the ranges I give in my Creationist Diet book (First Edition) for antioxidants if one wants to take them for their possible effect in reducing the risk of heart disease, cancer, and stroke.
Fourth, this supplement contains adequate amounts of calcium (500 mg) and magnesium (250 mg), so a separate calcium/ magnesium supplement is not needed as is often the case with other multi's.
Fifth, the forms of minerals found in this supplement are highly absorbable forms, such as magnesium citrate and zinc monoethionate, rather than the more common but less absorbed oxide forms of these minerals.
Sixth, this powder does not contain iron. Generally speaking, adult men and post-menopausal women should not take supplemental iron.
